Finding the right inspector for our new home was a difficult decision. | The AHI funny photo of the week! This photo shows a kitchen waste line trap that is installed horizontally as opposed to vertically. FYI: the purpose of a trap in the waste line is to create a water barrier that will prevent sewer gases (foul odor) from coming back into the home from the sewer line. In order to perform it's intended purpose the trap has to be vertical to hold water. This was a completely incompetent installation. Funny, but improper.
